The New Education

Becoming a Synthesizer for Personal Growth

The mind is the driving force behind every task that the human body performs throughout the day.

In recent times, many people have chosen to spend more time in solitude rather than engaging in social activities and going out frequently.

This trend suggests that people are becoming more reflective, realizing that they have not tapped into their full potential since their inception.

A person's thinking is molded over time by various factors, such as their experiences, environment, friends, family, political views, religion, and other influences. As they enter their adolescence, the mind begins to seek answers to countless questions about their life's meaning.

In doing so, individuals will experiment with different paths to find out if they suit a specific role.

This process is something that the school system often neglects. I am not opposed to education, as schools provide lectures and teach students how to solve problems and think critically.

The issue nowadays is that students prioritize passing grades and graduating from college over pursuing genuine self-discovery and personal growth.

As this quote says:

"Unless you try to do something beyond what you have already mastered, you will never grow." - Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Therefore, being confined to a single path is dreadful. Extremely dreadful. There is a book called "The Pathless Path" by Paul Millerd.

The book depicts two paths that individuals often follow in life: the "default path" and the "pathless path." According to the book's concept, a person's environment and social circle can sway their career preferences and interests.

As a consequence, individuals may tend to opt for popular and seemingly secure career choices.

These paths often represent stable corporate careers where they envision themselves ascending the ladder over the next decade without facing major hurdles.

Remember that in the past, our society operated differently.

Learning was mainly restricted from person to person. One could only get an education by attending school, and achieving financial success in their career often depended on obtaining a high-level degree and securing a well-paying job. However, our society has changed.

With the advent of the internet, society underwent a radical transformation.

Businesses and various platforms started to function online and offline, creating new opportunities and avenues for growth.

As time advanced, the educational system adapted to these changes.

Employers, creators, brands, clients, and customers began to assess individuals based on their social media presence.

Social media has become essential to modern life, almost like virtual reality, shaping a digital society and defining the new economy.

It is no longer just an option but a necessity in the interconnected world we live in today.

Once you recognize social media for what it truly is, a new world of possibilities emerges.

You can acquire skills and knowledge that traditional schools might not offer.

You can connect with like-minded individuals making remarkable progress in their fields far beyond the boundaries of your local community.

You can unlock the potential to earn money that is not limited by a fixed salary.

Seize the opportunities it offers and make the most of this transformative era.

HOW DO YOU EDUCATE YOURSELF NOWADAYS

The traditional path to learning is familiar to us all: attending school, achieving good grades, and securing a lucrative job.

Some even aspire to higher education with master's degrees and PhDs.

However, a new learning paradigm is emerging in today's society, often dubbed as the "new META."

This approach is known as being a SYNTHESIZER. This term was coined by Andrew Kirby.

Being a synthesizer can lead to astounding enhancements in various aspects of your life, such as business, career, health, fitness, relationships, mental clarity, and sleep.

As a synthesizer, your method entails absorbing information from various sources on a specific topic, processing and documenting your comprehension of the research and adding your distinctive perspective.

The beauty of this approach is that you can then share your insights through social media in different formats like videos, tweets, podcasts, or documents.

You're sharing your customized version of the knowledge you've collected.

Take Andrew Huberman as an example.

He possesses comprehensive knowledge of the science behind the human body and mind.

Curious?

Let's explore the three vital steps to becoming a successful synthesizer.

1. CONSUME

The first step to becoming a synthesizer is to CONSUME.

Some people say that consuming content is bad, because you are wasting your time and not taking any action based on the content you consume.

But this is not true.

"NOT EVERY CONTENT IS BAD".

The content you consume can vary.

The saying "YOU BECOME WHAT YOU CONSUME" is a fact.

So, consume information that aligns with who you want to be as a person.

Some people view the word "consume" negatively, but what you are really doing is "LEARNING".

This is where your real education begins.

When it comes to what you consume (learn), zoom out first and find out what you are currently interested in.

You may not be sure, but remember that we once watched a video that explained a specific topic that sparked our curiosity, which led us into a deep rabbit hole of research on that topic.

This kind of information consumption is healthy.

Some people will disagree and say that if you read a book, you must take action right away.

This kind of mindset is wrong and misguided.

Consuming content does not mean you are doing nothing; you are just accumulating information that is not being used, which is a waste.

So, try to zoom out and see what you are interested in.

Change what you watch, listen to, or read on the internet and filter them.

Get the information that you know can be applied and leave the less important ones.

Develop this mindset of accumulating information; you will be amazed by how much knowledge you can gain just by doing this.

2. IMPLEMENT

Now you are going to apply the information that you have learned.

Put them into practice in your workouts, habits, diet, relationships, business, and everything else.

By adopting this mindset, you will be able to collect more lessons, feedback, and criticism. That can serve as one of your weapons.

3. TEACHING

Now that you have consumed enough of the content that you are highly interested in, you will apply it to yourself to see and learn what works and what doesn't.

After doing so, you will have plenty of lessons that you can share with others.

This is similar to the "FEYNMAN TECHNIQUE".

Where you learn and teach the lesson to others to help you memorize specific topics.

Your mind may persuade you that you need more time to be ready to teach what you learned.

There may be numerous content creators that are already ahead of you. But the one thing that will set you apart from the others is how you teach them.

Here's a simple example:

"Two guys walk into a gym for the first time with the goal of getting big. One of them, let's call him Jared, has already studied and learned the essential content to help him on his fitness journey, and he's now applying that knowledge. The other guy, Mike, has limited knowledge about what he can do in the gym. Having learned about proper forms and exercise variations to prevent injuries, Jared is focused on using that understanding to guide his workouts. He now sees an opportunity to share the lessons he acquired with Mike, helping him improve his approach to fitness."

It's a simple one, but you get the idea.

In short, you're just telling your story on how you got from point A to point B.

You can learn valuable information quickly thanks to the internet.

You will teach what you've been doing on social media.

You can choose any format, such as a podcast, a YouTube video, a tweet, a book, or anything else. Nothing is impossible nowadays.

The essence of being a synthesizer is this:

Consume or learn valuable information on the internet that sparks your curiosity.

Apply it to your daily life to see what works and what doesn't.

Share it with people who have similar interests to you.

It's that simple.

We live in a digital world now where creators, brands, clients, and customers value your social media presence.

Social media has become an essential part of modern life, affecting hiring decisions and consumer behavior.

By following these three pillars and having the right mindset and patience, you can go far in your journey. We are our own brand and product.

Remember, "Produce more than you consume."

That’s all, talk to you guys soon.
